3/17/2023 0 Comments Cleanmymac 4 release date![]() ![]() You can purge all those unwanted junk files with a single click and reclaim the precious storage space. All these unwanted files hog space and slow down your Mac’s performance. Wouldn’t you want to clean up all the garbage and leftover files quickly? Well, CleanMyMac X provides a Smart Scan option, which explores your Mac’s storage for temporary files, browser cache, app caches, files left over after uninstalling apps, mail attachments, and even the files in the trash can. Clean Up Junk FilesĬombing different directories to manually delete unwanted files and folders is such a tedious chore. Whether you’re using an old Mac or new, here are the 5 smart ways to make your Mac run like a spanking new with a few clicks using CleanMyMac X. Thankfully, you can automate those tasks and cut down on hours spent on manually deleting files, folders, and unwanted apps. You’ll end up spending several hours every week to erase those unwanted files and apps manually. Others have reported similar incidents of disruption to one’s customized additions to the Finder/SideBar/Favorites list occurring immediately after a Mac OS update, which is part of the reason I mentioned ForkLift as an alternative non-Apple contender for performing the same organizational functions. The performance dip occurs when you don’t purge junk files, app caches, unused apps, and more. There have also been some suggestions that the culprit may have been Default Folder X. Never had a problem with CleanMyMac until this recent update and as I said originally, this incident may have occurred as a mere coincidence. As a Mac user continuously since 1984 and someone who ran my entire business on a network of Macs for many years until my retirement, I too have been very cautious about applications of this type but I certainly don’t put CleanMyMac in the same category as, for example, the notorious MacKeeper and I have used CMM without incident for some time. The option to have the Library visible is near the bottom of the window.ĬleanMyMac is listed and sold via Apple on its “highly curated” App Store, and appears to be favorably reviewed on TidBits. Note: To be sure that the Home Library is visible, have a Finder window open and select View>View Options. Now add the Favorites folder to the Sidebar. Open the restored Favorites folder and confirm or fix the aliases to point to the proper locations. Now, select the Favorites folder and restore it. If not, with the Library folder selected, open the Time Machine and scan back to a date when everything was OK. If a Favorites folder is there, open it to see if contains aliases to your Favorite items. So, here are the steps I would go through if the Favorites item is missing from the Finder Window Sidebar: The Favorites item in the sidebar is simply a set of alias from the Favorites folder in your home library (~/Library/Favorites). You shouldn’t have needed to start from scratch to rebuild your Favorites folder. I ended up spending a day rebuilding it, but nobody could answer this question: “What (new) option in CleanMyMacX should I avoid selecting in the future in order to not have my Finder SideBar Favorites deleted?” I tried to see if it could be recovered through my uptodate Time Machine disk, but couldn’t think of a way to do that and neither could they. I had a long chat online with their support in the Ukraine but it didn’t help. ![]() “Show Sidebar” and clicking arrow to the right of the word “Favorites” did NOT solve the problem. (The folders and their contents were not deleted but the hand-built contents of the SideBar Favorites list was deleted.) I think it resulted from one of the new options I tried but haven’t a clue which one. ![]() Unless it was just a terrible coincidence, my Favorites List of folders and sub-folders in the Finder’s SideBar were completely DELETED - not “disappeared” but deleted after running CleanMyMacX after the update - years of painstaking organization lost, and my daily go-to spot for adding and moving data.

This is exactly my kind of game, and personally I've never let achievement issues get in the way of me enjoying the game. It should be noted that the game has one unobtainable achievement: The classic "unlock all other achievements" one, which developers don't seem to understand on the Xbox at all. You'll also need to build 5000 buildings and kill 5000 enemies. You'll have to play for 168 hours - real time - and ascend 1000 vikings to Valhalla. The game does have excellent music though, playing different themes on different maps, although the context sensitive combat music will grate after a while. ![]() Graphically the game ins't exceptional, but has a cute art style similar to the later Settlers games which really works for it. The whole game is played from an isometric viewpoint, but it's a fully 3D world which means you can zoom, rotate and angle the camera as you please, in a similar fashion to games like Tropico 5. The ultimate aim of the game is to ascend 1000 vikings to Valhalla, earning one of the games most time consuming achievements (I'd earned an achievement for playing 24 hours before even ascending my first lot of vikings). When a viking earns 100,000 honour points he ascends to Valhalla, and in future games will have a little star next to his name and be slightly stronger in battle. If a viking dies, he obviously can't earn any more honour during that map, but he'll be resurrected on the following one, retaining any honour he earned. Your aim on each map is to scour the map for an exit portal, which you can open when you get near enough, and unleash an army of beasts and monsters you'll need to exterminate before you can pass through the portal and win the map.Īlmost every action you take, but especially beating the levels and defeating enemies, earns you honour, which is tracked individually per viking. The buildings all work through a traditional chain of command, so you'll need a toolmaker to create axes for your woodcutter, who cuts down trees for your sawmill, who creates planks for your bigger buildings, and so on. ![]() You'll be chopping down trees, mining ores and hunting wildlife as you place buildings to increase the size of your army and keep them fed and watered. In practice, This means playing through a series of randomly generated maps, building up an army through resources which are sourced from the land, Age of Empires style. The premise is simple enough: You have an ever expanding Viking civilisation, made of individually named vikings trying to earn enough honour to enter Valhalla, the hall of slain warriors, and live there under the leadership of the god Odin. Valhalla Hills describes itself as a 'classic build up game', in the style of The Settlers. Note: This game has one unobtainable achievement! ![]() 3/16/2023 0 Comments Ikana castle bomb![]() It's often noted that Majora's Mask paved the way for deeper storytelling in the Zelda series following Link's Awakening. The game is also well known for its grim, disturbing atmosphere, as well as its thematic examination of issues such as despair and inevitability. These include helping a young couple reunite with each other and defending a farm from cow-stealing UFOs. Numerous people in Termina need help of some form or another, and by exploiting the "Groundhog Day" Loop, Link can help all of them (albeit temporarily) to acquire Pieces of Heart, new Masks, and other rewards. Majora's Mask has only four dungeons (though they're much harder than any of the ones in Ocarina), so the gameplay places great emphasis upon various sidequests. ![]() Link chases after the trio, but falls down a rabbit hole of sorts and is transformed into a Deku Scrub by the mischievous Skull Kid. As he wanders through a mysterious forest on his trusty horse, Epona, he is mugged by a masked Skull Kid and his two Fairy Companions, who steal Epona and the Ocarina of Time before fleeing. The game was notable both for being the darkest entry in the series at the time, a title that it's still in the running for to this day, and for being one of two games that required the N64 Expansion Pack alongside Donkey Kong 64 (though technically Perfect Dark needed it as well in order to function properly).Īfter the end of Ocarina of Time, Link embarks on a personal quest to reunite with a lost friend. Fitting, as the devs only had that one year to make it, owing to a bet Eiji Aonuma made with series creator Shigeru Miyamoto. A followup to Ocarina of Time in terms of both story and gameplay, the development team re-used the engine and character models from Ocarina of Time, which reduced the development time of this game to one year. ![]() Majora's Mask is the sixth game in The Legend of Zelda series, released in 2000. ![]() 3/16/2023 0 Comments Tabledit fingering notation![]() ![]() + Virtual pedalboard with numerous integrated effects Load and play an audio file with tempo and pitch adjustment for transcribing songs, as a practice or backing track + Suitable for three- to ten-string instruments with up to 24 frets + Useful tool for easy creation of own scores and accompaniments, for learning to play and practicing, etc. Since I was a child I wanted that product so much.Īt that time the Guitar Pro 4 was released& I always wanted it.įinally, I achieved to get myself the Guitar Pro 8& it has so many features: 13 different programme languages selectable.Export of PDF and PNG as well as MP3, WAV, FLAC and Ogg files.Import and export of ASCII and MIDI files as well as MusicXML.Note input via numeric keypad, mouse or MIDI.Playback effects such as note decay, palm mute, natural and artificial harmonics, bends, tremolo bars, vibratos, slides, hammer-on, pull-off, tapping, slapping, hopping, brushes, rasguedo, sledge notes, trills, tremolos, crescendo/decrescendo and fade in/fade out.Comments, texts and fingering diagrams can be inserted into the score.Notation of note durations, triplets, x-tols, rests, dynamic signs, accents, tied notes, fingerings for the left and right hand, upstrokes and downstrokes, bar chords, note stems and ligatures.Set up bars and layout with key, rhythm playback, bar repeats, repeat signs, coda, segno, repeat transitions and section names (verse, chorus, bridge.) etc.Composition tools such as chord and scale display.Editable score layout with numerous design options.Individually adjustable relative values for length, position and velocity per note allow for precise adjustments.Visual metronome for visual tempo indication.Focus / Unfocus function changes the level of the currently selected track by a defined value and thus creates a volume difference to the other tracks.Virtual pedalboard with numerous integrated effects. ![]() Load and play an audio file with tempo and pitch adjustment for transcribing songs, as a practice or backing track.Suitable for three- to ten-string instruments with up to 24 frets.Useful tool for easy creation of own scores and accompaniments, for learning to play and practising, etc. ![]() 3/16/2023 0 Comments Node.js for mac m1![]() ![]() Their own chip designs to stray away from Intel. The thing is, Intel promised Apple (and the rest of the world) 10 nm by ~2015. I don't think they would've spent all this time and money to make an ARM chip if there was already something else available on the market. If you do mostly web development or web design and don't rely on things like docker or if you can use a mock API to mock your backend dependencies - I think this system makes a lot of sense. Overall, I consider it a good price for a performant machine. But for some other issues, you will just need to wait for fixes and use an x86 machine in the meantime. Some of those fixes will be easier as the community posts issues and fixes on Github. My impression is that if you have moderately big projects to work on - with a lot of dependencies & especially if you need to use docker - you will run into various issues that you need to fix. There were no deaths related to pembrolizumab in the study, but 1 death occurred as a result of intestinal perforation in the chemotherapy arm. Sixteen percent of patients in the pembrolizumab arm experienced serious AEs compared with 29% of the chemotherapy arm. The most common TRAEs resulting from chemotherapy were decreased neutrophil count (17%), neutropenia (15%), diarrhea (10%), and fatigue (19%). The most common TRAES in the pembrolizumab arm were increased alanine aminotransferase, colitis, diarrhea, and fatigue, which each occurred in 3% of patients. Safety results showed that ≥ grade 3 treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) occurred in 22% of the pembrolizumab arm vs 66% of the chemotherapy arm. However, the study was positive for the coprimary end point of PFS. One feature that I feel the benefit of on a daily basis is the incredible speed with which the machine Sleeps and Restores. This operating system appears to be jam-packed with tons of goodies.Īnd, I'm quite sure I've only scratch the surface. Need to turn your Mac into a wireless hotspot? No problem, it's already built-in. Every time I wonder if the Mac can do something, a quick Google search typically will reveal that such-and-such feature is already built directly into the operating system. One of the things that repeatedly surprises me is how much functionality is built directly into the Mac. The good news is, aside from the few items above, pretty much everything else about my MacBook Pro kind of rocks it hardcore style. Though, there was actually one action that I did like for a while but then I discovered that I could program my mouse's thumb-button to do the same thing and the last useful corner became irrelevant (and the slower option). The only time I ever really triggered an Expose feature was by accident. This is another one of those things that looked cool from afar but quickly lost its attractiveness when I started to use it. So what do Spaces do? For me, they only added unnecessary animation (read: delay) between my application toggling.Įxpose (ie. Everything else is an ALT+TAB away - the space on which it resides is completely and utterly irrelevant. In other words, it's the one I'm focused on. The problem was that my original perception was founded on a completely false notion: that apps are grouped.Īpplication are not grouped rather, there is the currently active application and then there is everything else. Then, I got my Mac and realized that Spaces was useless. I always thought it would be awesome to be able to jump back and forth between logically-grouped sets of applications. When I was a Windows user, I saw everyone using Spaces at the conferences and it made me really jealous. Every time I ALT+TAB when I meant to ALT+~, I reminded of the incompleteness of this feature. I have felt this pain from day-one and it is not something that I've ever been able to ever get fully used to. Everything from maximizing, to minimizing, to alt-tabbing is just not up to the level of the Windows OS yet. Without a doubt, the worst feature on this computer is the way it handles windowing. ![]() NOTE: Everything beyond this point is 100% personal opinion!
